I have long said that one of life’s little luxuries is being the first to use a clean, dry bathmat.
Returning to my home after an early morning run with friends and my sweet border collie, being greeted by my dear husband and the smell of freshly-brewed coffee, and then taking that first sip of coffee (which always tastes better than any of the other sips). This one scenario is full of so many of my favorite things and simple pleasures!
My grandma always made the best toast. I don’t know how. It was always toasted just to the edge of crispy but not burnt and had the perfect butter ratio.
Getting into a bed with freshly washed sheets
Slipping into a freshly made bed! The first sip of a perfect IPA. The endorphin rush after a great run. Having peace and silence to be left alone to binge your favorite junky reality show.
Yes on all accounts to these small pleasures. I have often wondered if a toast shop might be a hit–different breads and toppings, made perfectly, with comforting drinks and cozy chairs.
I’d go there! My friend was dreaming of starting a toast food truck which I think would be a hit!
I live in New Zealand and a couple of toast cafes have popped up in the past couple years. I think your right that people enjoy the basic pleasure of a piece of toast, after the trend of waffles piled high with a million elabarote toppings.
Sometimes I feel like an alien when I tell people I don’t like podcasts…. nor toast (gasp!). But everyone else I know looooves toast so I think your cafe would be a hit
The perfect cup of coffee. Smooth, dark or medium roast with Starbucks caramel macchiato creamer.
Simple pleasure: when your regular morning cup of coffee is just absolutely delicious. Same water, same machine, same coffee. . . but some days, it just HITS THE SPOT!
Yes and amen!!!
Wearing a sweatshirt in the morning.
I love that wedding comic.
Sincerely,

Another simple pleasure that I hat the pleasure of being pleased by today is when Cup of Jo’s weekend post comes out extra early Friday afternoon and I can really savor it at work while having no more bandwidth left for actual work!
Reading Cup Of Jo at work. Always helps to brighten my day :)
So my toddler has taken to buttered toast with “sprinkles” -Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel. Each morning he is delighted to eat it and offers, “do you want a bite of my DELICIOUS toast, Mommy?” SO good. His joy is the best.
(oh, and my oldest devoured the Mercy Watson book series, where a pig adores “hot buttered toast” and once you read all of those, you will crave it, too!)
Yes! How on earth have you gotten this far in life without watching it!!!! Soooooo glad you Finally did :-)
i would add nothing. these are the things.
