When my sister and I did an apartment swap in California last month, our hosts had just painted their hardwood floors white. It looked clean and bright and was a great solution for not-so-new-and-shiny wood floors.

i have been all about the white floors lately. cannot get enough. at the end of the month my very colorful apartment is getting white floors and neutral walls. i might just find 100 more sq. ft. even if it is all just smoke and mirrors!
I painted our guesthouse floors a pale driftwood color – I wanted white, but thought this would be a better option in the pacific northwest.
they look dirty ALL THE TIME, even with an area rug, eventhough we take out shoes off at the entry…
so sad :(
I love it…I wish we had done this and saved lots of money and hassle – our new sambuca bamboo is hard to care for with wee ones- scratches easily and looks dreadful with the crumbs!!!
I have white laminate floors in my whole house and LOVE THEM. It looks a bit like white washed pine but white. It is by pergo and available at Home depot and lowes. Because the “grain” of the wood shows, dirt etc just blends right in. And one can never damage laminate.

i love light-colored floors, even if they’re a bit more to maintain. the brightness just makes me feel happy, even when it’s a cloudy, ugly day.
I have an old shed I’m going to be transforming into my craft workshop. My dream is to paint the floors a crisp white…although, I’m sure they won’t stay crisp for long, it sure looks amazing!
My brother did this look combined with white walls in his old falt in London. It was lovely and clean looking, but god was is bright! It’s a good idea to invest in heavy curtains for those days when you have a headache or need a dark cozy corner!
I love white walls and floors and if I ever get to own a house thats what I’ll do first thing.
Love it – this is from an old Domino Magazine photo. I believe that it is a renovated farmhouse in CT. The design was by two women – Domino has featured their work on other occasions (I just can’t remember their names).

we had some of our floors painted white at our cottage… it really is pretty, but it does show all those muddy footprints!
