I saw this movie when it came out and was disappointed. Thought it could have been a lot better.
oh yes! I sat in on a discussion with the director and her insight alone on the teenagers was amazing. I so cannot wait. I hope they play it here.
This looks so GOOD! I can’t wait!
i’m so there.
can’t wait for this! i’m curious to find out more about it – see how real it is.
this looks fantastic.
somethings don’t change!
it’s like a movie version of jona frank’s incredible book of images: High School (Arena Street Publishing)!
thank you for the intro ; )
i just saw a preview of this and it looks great! i think i’m going to like rebel girl.
Wow, that one really looks rad. I remember watching The Breakfast Club maybe three years ago, when I was in high school. And I was so happy, because I felt like the misfit-character then, but while watching the movie I realized: “uh, actually I think Alley Sheedy is the neatest one of them”. And it made me feel like it was all-right to be like that.
So yay for high school movies with lots of identification-possibilities.
I caught this at Sundance this year (you don’t know how long I’ve been wanting to say that!). Very worthwhile. And you’ll probably get to see it in a theater with plenty of knee room!
This is the first I’m hearing of this movie. Thanks for posting about it. Which one of these labels applied to you in high school?
Looking forard to seeing this, but so glad I’m not a teenager in today’s world. By comparison we had it easy in the 80s.
Yes, I can’t wait to see it. I got a post card in the mail about the premier at Lincoln Plaza. The teens themselves were there to answer questions. I could not go but I bet it was fascinating. I love that stuff. I just watched a docu called “Country Boys” that follows two boys through high school in a rural depressed appalacian town in Kentucky. It was really interesting and surprising. We’re really lucky.
congrats on the office. looks incredible.
…and here I am waiting for “Mamma Mia”…color me the dancing queen.
When I first saw this I didn’t think it looked very good at the beginning, but then by the ending of the trailer where they play happy music I was hooked. Basically any trailer that uses happy music or a song by the Cure will guarantee that I see the movie.
I saw this at a screening in L.A. last week-you will not be disappointed. The kids from the movie were there to introduce the film-everyone will fall in love with Hannah Bailey!
