Roald Dahl fans, can you help?
One of my favourite Roald Dahl books is from his adult short stories about a lady who writes about her infidelity thinking/knowing that her husband never reads her books. Can anyone help me with the title please?
I just love Matilda as a little girl and I think that I identified with her bookishness.
I have Read it too many times to count.
I might have to revisit it again.

Not that I want to judge Pamela Druckerson for her personal adult choices– but I’m struck by how effortless it seems to write a parenting book. I’m still a mother-to-be but I’m certainly cautious of taking advice from the woman whose other contribution to the literary world is “Lust in Translation: Infidelity from Tokyo to Tennessee” and the woman who famously cataloged her quest to give her husband the perfect birthday present in her article, “how I planned a ménage à trios.”
Roald Dahl was my absolute favorite author growing up! I think he greatly contributed to my slightly twisted sense of humor. Every one of his books struck a chord with me, it’s impossible to choose a favorite, but if I were FORCED, I’d have to go with Matilda just because I identified with her bookworm-ish-ness. This made my heart so happy tonight :)
Oh my gosh, I love Roald Dahl, these are spectacular!
I do love stamps they remind me the days when people used to send each other letters about their life and senses so I love these too, they are so adorable, anyway my favourite is Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Thanks for sharing.
I love these! I especially love that the drawings are by Quentin Blake, who illustrated almost all of Roald Dahl’s books. I grew up reading Dahl and to me, they just aren’t complete without Blake’s illustrations. As for my favorite book, I would say it’s a tie between “Matilda” and “The Witches.” Thanks for sharing!
They have box sets at Costco of the books right now. I bought them for my daughter’s bday party favors.
Foto Bugil Says: Great informative site. I’m really impressed after reading this blog post.
AH the memories. i always like how dahl made up some of the silliest and craziest words. reminds me i need to buy me a copy of bfg, a fav for me too.
Matilda is my favorite. Followed closely by The Twits. These books are amazing, even for adults to read. I re-read a few since I’ve grown up and there were loads of important life lessons in there that I didn’t even realise I was being taught as a child. The illustrator, Quentin Blake, has also written some of his own children’s books and they are awesome too!
These stamps made me want to rediscover old favourite children’s books.
One of my absolute favourite is Jeanne Willis’ “Dr. Xargler’s book about earthlets”. A picture book about babies from an alien’s point of view. It’s hilarious! I will recommend it to everyone.
Love this! Mine was definitely The Twits :)
