Do or Don’t: Middle Part

This spring, there’s a new trend in town: The middle part. Here are some photos…

The middle part can look tousled and laid-back…

…or sleek and sexy.

But most of all, it makes me think of the 1968 movie Romeo & Juliet starring the fresh-faced beauty Olivia Hussey (my first-ever girl crush). It was my favorite movie when I was growing up. Have you ever seen it? Look how breathtakingly beautiful she looks with a middle part…

…even in behind-the-scenes photos. :)

So, the big question is: Do you like the middle part? Do or don’t? Will you be parting your hair this summer? xo

for the longest time i had “side bangs” and about 3 years ago i reverted back to a middle part. for me, my hair is naturally wavy, so it just seems to fit.

Back when I was a kid, middle parting was cool,then in got geeky in my teenage years and now in my twenties, its back!

I’ve been parting my hair in the middle since last year. Love it, especially slightly tousled.

Middle part is the only thing my hair does. Even when I had a fringe, it would middle part!

Yay, for the middle part trend! I’ve always had a middle part, my hair just naturally falls that way and it seems odd any other way – although I’ve tried. Particularly when I was younger and my brother and sister would tease me that I looked like Nana Mouskouri. (Not that I minded so much as I actually think she’s got awesome style).

So funny that you mention this today. I parted my hair in the middle for no real reason just yesterday. At the time I thought, why am I doing this…but it looks cool, so I’ll leave it. Now, I know it was the subtle flexes of a trend beginning. For once, I’m at the start, not the end of a trend. :)

I definitely love the middle part and wear my hair that way several times a week! :) I am curious if you have any tips for dry shampoo. I have tried it but have not had much luck in that department.

I always like this look when I see it on other people, but when I try it on myself I find it looks poofy and ridiculous… I do have extremely thick hair so perhaps that is why.

So I guess the answer to your question is no, but if I could pull it off then I would.

I part my hair in the centre when it’s curly, my hairdresser taught me to do it last time I was there and I love it :) usually it is straight and parted to one side.

Ditto on the teenage obsession with Romeo and Juliet and the Olivia hussey girl crush…you have made my day with these pictures. I just let my part fall where it may, which is a little off center right in front, then in the center the rest of the way. My hair is long and wavy so a natural beachy look suits it best, I guess.

I actually ALWAYS prefer the side part. I think it’s always more sultry and classy. Although, these women are pulling it off! :)
