A couple weeks ago, I asked if anyone would like a glasses makeover from Lookmatic. We were amazed to get more than 500 responses! Everyone was so funny and cute that it was almost impossible to narrow down the list. But in the end, we invited four women—Jen, Bridget, Caitlin and Roselyn—to spend a girly morning in Brooklyn.

We were lucky enough to hang at Sunday Suppers, an event studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. (You might have heard of their amazing cooking classes.) Look at that view!

We chatted and ate pumpkin yogurts and pastries…

…did hair and makeup (don’t you always half fall asleep when you’re getting your hair done?)…

…and finally we chose glasses. Lookmatic has tons of different colors and shapes, so it was cool to watch each woman find a pair to fit her personality.

And, finally, here are the after photos!

Caitlin, a comedian from Queens, was bubbly and adorable.

Fun facts: “I love watching ‘My Grandmother’s Ravioli’ on the Cooking Channel and one day I wish to own an leather jacket. Also I love babies. Baby animals, baby humans, whatever I can get, I will hug them all.”

New glasses (Kitty): “I can’t wait to wear them all the time, they are just so fun and perfect. I would have never had the guts to pick them on my own, but the entire group was so fun and supportive.”

Also, Caitlin’s final reconstructive surgery for her preventative double mastectomy is this Saturday, so we will be thinking of her! She also has an awesome docu-series called “Screw You Cancer” that’s now on Glamour.com.

Jen is actually a speech therapist from Dallas, but she was visiting New York with her husband and son. She was warm and wonderful to chat with.

Fun facts: “I love hanging with my six-year-old son. He’s really into outer space and describes everything as ‘as big as Jupiter.’ Every year my husband and I do a trip just the two of us. We went to Barcelona this year. I’m also a runner and run the Dallas marathon every couple years. Afterward I get margaritas, chips and salsa. Then go home and take a big nap.”

New glasses (Bel-Air): “This new pair is wider for my face shape. I love the red color. They’re great everyday glasses.”

Bridget is an environmental attorney who lives in the West Village. She was fun and friendly and had a great tomboy style.

Fun facts: “I like trying new restaurants with friends and my sister and brother. One of our go-to restaurants is I Sodi, where I always get the onion pasta—it sounds boring (just pasta and onions) but it’s so, so amazing and savory. I also like reading novels and just finished The Flamethrowers.”

New glasses (Bel-Air): “My old glasses were too tame, and I was looking for something with more pop. I love the blue color.”

Roselyn is super sweet administrative assistant from Queens with a megawatt smile.

Fun facts: “My husband and I love traveling and are hoping to go to France soon. Right now I’m reading Love in the Time of Cholera for the third time; every time I read it, it’s different. I also like baking; I’m going to make oatmeal cranberry biscotti tonight.”

New glasses (Uncleonard): “I wanted something classic yet sexy. These are fun but neutral enough to wear anywhere, even to work.”

A big thanks to the stylists who helped—Kendra, Suzy and Reagan (pictured here in Lookmatic glasses, too).

Don’t the women look fantastic??? Thank you so much, ladies—and thanks again, Lookmatic!
