Gather for Goats

When my friend Linsey set up a NYC apartment for a Syrian refugee family, many people asked how they could help. Well, I have an answer! Together with Lifting Hands International, Linsey has launched Gather for Goats, a worldwide benefit to help Syrian refugee families…

“I’m excited to officially launch Gather for Goats,” says Linsey. “There’s a large group of vulnerable refugee families living just over the border from Syria in the Jordanian desert. We want to buy 800 goats for these families, so their children can get the hydration and nutrition they so desperately need.” The goats will produce daily milk, and families can produce butter and cheese. They can also sell any extra products for a small source of income. Goats are low-maintenance animals who are able to eat the wild vegetation in the region.

If you’d like to help, you can donate on Gather for Goats, or you can host a gathering the weekend of May 5-7 and ask guests to donate what they would have spent going out. We’ll be hosting a bagel picnic for friends and families next weekend (May 6th) and asking them to donate to the cause. We’ll post photos on Instagram, and would love to see yours, too! #gatherforgoats

Thank you so much for asking how to help, and thank you to Linsey for helping arrange this project. Please let us know if you have any questions, of course. xoxo

P.S. It would also make a beautiful Mother’s Day gift.
