This is the great blog and nice images post about in swim program. Swimming are very difficult task to kids, swimming teaching classes are most important to kids. Thanks.

My mother had me in the water with her at 3 months and I started taking swimming lessons before I was two. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t know how to swim, which is great because I was never scared of water.

Young children can, in fact drown in less than two INCHES of water (far less than the two feet quoted). Drowning awareness is very big here in Australia, as so many people have pools or live close by beaches and rivers. It is really important to teach your kids to swim as soon as you can. We decided against infant swim classes for my daughter, and at 4.5 she still cannot swim despite 6 months of weekly swimming classes with only 2 in the class. We have signed her younger sister up at 18 months for baby swim classes. They are more water awareness at this stage, but are hoping she can swim by 3.

I was born in Florida and lived there my frist 8 years. I vividly remember a swim class when I was about 2 or 3 where our parents held us and we had to put our mouths right above the water and blow this little bobbly ball over to its other side. Besides that, I never took swimming lessons, but we had a pool in our backyard so everyone in the family took turns teaching me things. My sisters are largely responsible for me being able to swim (and dive!), as they are 5 and 10 years older than me and were already good swimmers. I was such a water baby– constantly in the pool!

This is a great post! Swimming is a life skill, but parents please don’t assume that just because your children have had swim lessons that they are still water safe, and don’t need to be watched like a hawk at a pool or an open body of water. The reason that kids, with swim lessons are still susceptible to drowning is because they panic. If they happen to fall into a pool or pond clothed, and are startled, and swallow water, they begin to panic. Also, older kids in a pool can create a wake that makes youngers choke on water as well. Drowning victims don’t necessarily look like they are thrashing about. If anyone lives near open water, look into United States Lifeguarding Association Junior Lifeguard programs, for your children aged 9 and above. They are all around the country, and actually train kids in the skills of life saving in open water. It’s amazing how many Junior Lifeguards have saved themselves from dangerous situations, or saved someone else, like a sibling, on very crowded summer days. Stay safe out there, and enjoy the water!
