Do or Don’t: Painted Doors

Love the black and the yellow! We painted the inside panels of a door that leads to our basement with black chalkboard paint and it looks awesome. The black and white combo is super cool.

we have a bright yellow pocket door on our navy blue powder room. it always makes me smile (even when I’m on the can)

My Dad’s house always had an orange front door when I was growing up, and it turns out my best friend’s dad did too. And we found that so odd, because our dads couldn’t be more different than each other, but seeing an orange door meant the same thing to both of us. (She even wrote her college entrance essay about it… and got in :)

I do love these doors, but… I don’t really get the “do or don’t?” thing. I’m pretty sure all doors are painted unless they are just stained natural wood, which is relatively rare. Maybe you mean “colorful doors.” (For the record all of my exterior doors are bright red, to go with white clapboards and black shutters.)
