Have a beautiful trip
thanks so much for these comments! :) E, yes, we’re still taking a honeymoon–but we had this paris trip planned for a year, before we even got engaged! :) so it’s a pre-wedding getaway :)
AWW!!
But rain can be super romantic.
Is this your pre-wedding trip? Do you still get to do a honeymoon? ;)
Have a fabulous time in Paris, despite the rain! We are forecast rain here all weekend.
Today the sky is still blue in Paris… I hope the weather forecast is wrong !!!
If you want to eat awesome icecream, AMORINO is the place to go. Many 48bd Haussman, 18 rue Mouffetard, 16 rue de la Huchette…
Because ice cream in the rain is still ice cream…!

paris is most beautiful in the rain.
at sacre coeur, if you have a chance to go, there is a little cafe area up past the chapel to the left. you can eat outside in the rain under these tent-like things and afterward the artists come out around 6:00 and you can get a portrait done. it’s a special little place!
No worries, as Catherine said, it will rain, but not the whole day. just bring an umbrella, you’d be fine.
They have the interesting cloud and blue sky after the short shower.
As a former TV producer, I know that the thing about weather forecast is that, if it has the possibility of rain, it has to say so to the public, even for 5 mins of water drops, they have to list it as “rainy” in the forecast, I wouldn’t really worry about it.
Look at this picture, it’s after a rainy day:

But even if it rains all day, you have Alex, that’s the most important thing anyway.
I wouldn’t be too terribly bummed! Every time I’ve been to Paris, it has rained. But it would rain for 5 minutes (and boy, it would RAIN! Enough rain in 5 minutes to last 5 hours!) but then be sunny for 6 hours, then rain for another half hour! Paris’ weather is just like Paris: always changing. You’ll have a great time regardless, even if it does pleut des cordes (rains ropes, a French saying like our cats and dogs).
that is how the forcast looked before my trip too, but it kept changing. it only actually rained one day out of 6. have a great trip!
Don’t worry. I am living in Paris and the weather is great now : blue sky, warm temperatures…And I think it will last some more days. It is the best season to visit Paris. Do you know what you will visit ? Do you know Pierre Herme’s macaroon shop?
Enjoy your stay ! (and tell me if you need some tips “from inside”).
We spent a very soggy 8 days in Paris a few years ago, and it was still magical – at least it will be warmish, and you won’t even notice the rain as you dash from shop to shop or spend hours in museums.
I ended up ditching my rainboots in favour of flats and barefeet, I found it far comfier, but it depends on your personal style. And in response to your earlier post, there are chic young women in Chuck Taylors all over Paris, so feel free to indulge with some great dark skinny jeans!
color me jealous!
typical. but think how fun it will be to carry an umbrella and duck inside little cafes for a break fro the rain. honestly, I expect Paris to be gray. overcast and rainy. it only adds to the city’s appeal!
